Take A Hike That Will Change Your Life

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) from Mexico to Canada is a 2,650-mile long hike that avoids roads and towns. The hikers stay on remote paths in the wild untamed nature. The travelers carry their own supplies and spend their nights camping along the way.

The trail goes through 19 major canyons and crosses over 57 major mountain passes. It also passes more than 1,000 tarns and lakes.

The trail is split into manageable 40-150 mile sections. At each significant road crossing and resupply opportunity one trail ends and another begins. Here’s a link to the Pacific Crest Trail Maps.

You don’t have to hike for months to experience the incredible trail, but can also participate on hikes that take less than week. For a longer trail you can take for example the John Muir Trail, a 211-mile long trail that goes through Yosemite, John Muir and Ansel Adams Wildernesses, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.

The thru-hike of 2,650 miles (from Mexico to Canada) is a remarkable achievement since only approximately 50% of the hikers that take this trail, finish. Unfortunately injuries are quite common since it’s the primitive wilderness that one meets on the trail.
